Metropolis Moxie, a new travel publishing company, is seeking a writer to update our London guidebook in 2006 and provide weekly content for our blog.
Position description: Writer will have three responsibilities. First: Provide weekly content for the Metropolis Moxie blog for 1 year. Content will be on London current events, including news, celebrity gossip, social scene, arts, sports, and other topics of interest as appropriate. Weekly content should be 250-350 words in length and presented in anecdotal form, from a friendly, personal, savvy insider perspective. Anecdotes must be factual and will primarily be accounts of the writer’s thoughts and activities as they would be of interest to a London visitor. Political rants, campaigning, marketing, obscenities, and/or profanities will not be permitted.
Second: Research new bars, restaurants, and shops.
Third: Update the London guidebook in March 2006. This will include fact-checking for continued accuracy of information, providing recommendations for businesses to add and remove from the book, and writing up-to-date content as appropriate.
Qualifications: High priority is placed on hiring an American living in central London with at least 18 months of residency and expected continuing residency for the next 12 months. Excellent writing skills are required, with strong preference for published writers. Must be an active participant in the London scene and have an engaging informal writing style. Minimum 21 years of age. When applying please provide a resume (CV), referenece, and writing samples appropriate to the position.
