View Full Version : Portland, OR: Things to do, places to eat on a budget.
trippinkpj 11-06-2006, 08:56 PM I've been there before, but I'd appreciate any ideas. For dining, I'd
like to stick to places $20.- or less for the 2 of us for breakfast/
lunch and $30.- is for 2 at dinner. Thanks all! :-)

You might want to check out the "Cheap Eats" section of Willamette Week.
http://www.willametteweek.com/editorial/3221/7377/ I'd have to agree with
their picks of carts, judging by the three on their list I've tried...
how does $5 a meal strike you?

Oh, and one of my favorite restaurants downtown is Al Amir... $32 for
a couple of mazas (I'd suggest chicken, my husband would suggest sliced
lamb rather than the lamb kebab)....

Cesar Neri 12-06-2006, 03:45 PM In terms of things to do, the 20-mile drive along the Columbia River Highway
just outside Portland is a must. Read

As for dining, you definitely have to try the Original Pancake House for
breakfast.

Lastly, you should splurge one time for dinner and try the Ringside
Steakhouse.

trippinkpj 13-06-2006, 05:39 AM Okay, the original pancake house is on my list as I love potato
pancakes. I'll see if we can work the Ringside Steakhouse into the
budget. Thanks Cesar. :-)
