Moving out of a town centre when you’re a student always seems like a good option. The lower levels of rent that are available mean that you can have more of your student loan left for nights out, clothes, books and whatever else takes your fancy. However, shortly after moving away from the town centre, it’s likely you’ll realise that although cheap rent is great, the walks to university are long and cold… especially in winter. Due to this, most people often think about taking or using a bike. This is a great idea, but causes a number of logistic issues such as safety and storage. Instead, an electric skateboard is a much better option. Here’s why.

Walking vs. Electric Skateboards

Let’s face it, walking to university seems like a bit of a chore; especially for those dreaded 9am lectures. As a result, it can sometimes be a little bit harder to motivate yourself to attend these lectures, can’t it? However, whereas walking is incredible time consuming, an electric skateboard can have you at your lecture in no time at all. So, although you’ve got the additional expense of buying one, you simply have to work out how much those extra fifteen minutes in bed really mean to you.

Bikes vs. Electric Skateboards

Although, as stated, bikes are a great option, there are several pitfalls that an electric skateboard negates. Bike theft is really common in universities and in student accommodation. Although much is being done by a number of institutions to try and prevent theft, crime rates are still high, which could leave you out of pocket. The sleek and small design of an electric skateboard means that, unlike bikes, you do not have to leave them unattended and can take then into a lecture with you, simply popping the skateboard under your chair, lowering the crime risk.

Likewise, unlike cumbersome and difficult to store bikes, electric skateboards are really simple to store. This is ideal if you have limited room in your student flat or house, as nobody particularly wants a large bike in their room or hallway. An electric skateboard can be stored almost anywhere, including completely out of the way under your bed.

So there we have it. There are a number of reasons why you should invest in an electric skateboard. From convenience to speed to low theft rates and easy storage, there electric skateboard is the perfect way to get to and from university. So, why not consider putting one on your Christmas list?
