• Ford SYNC 2 –This hands-free technology makes it possible to operate the Focus’ navigation and entertainment systems with just your voice. The system also includes an optional 8-inch touchscreen for regular hands-on control when not driving.

• Park Assist – Parking on busy city streets can be a nightmare. The new Focus brings an end to that nightmare with advanced Park Assist that works for both parallel and perpendicular parking. You can let the system help you, if you still like the challenge of parking, or you can let the car completely park itself. It can even select a parking space for you.

• Active Braking – The active braking system uses radar and advanced software to help anticipate potential crashes and automatically apply the brakes to slow you down. Under city driving conditions, Active Braking is combined with City Stop to reduce accidents and impact damage at speeds of under 30 mph.

• Cross Traffic Alert – This is a brand-new technology from Ford that monitors cross traffic when you are backing out of a space. If any cross traffic is detected, it sounds alert that tells you to stop.

• Driver Alert – It is never a good idea to drive when you are fatigued. Ford’s Driver Alert system works to prevent fatigued driving by monitoring driver behaviour for any changes that could signify excessive fatigue. It uses a system of display alerts and sounds to warn the driver it is time to take a break.

Although we have listed five of the new technologies that Ford is offering in the latest Focus model, there are others we just do not have the space to talk about. Needless to say, the Focus is a great car to consider for anyone who loves to combine driving with technology.

Fuel Mileage and Performance

The new Ford Focus does not lack in performance either. For example, Ford has selected a 1.0 L eco-boost engine as the standard powerplant for the Focus. It offers a good combination of power and fuel efficiency for a family car. Nevertheless, you can upgrade to 1.5 L eco-boost or the brand-new 1.5 L TDCi for increased power and lower fuel emissions.
